Match overview
What is a match?
A match is a curated introduction between top talent and employers like you.
Obligations with a match
A match is simply a warm introduction. It may be helpful to think of this as the first step of the recruiting process. While we hope each match will lead to something more, the decision to proceed further in the recruiting process is left to each candidate and the employer they match with.
After a match has been made, it is the employer's responsibility to contact the candidate. As a courtesy to the candidate you match with and to help us maintain an effective matchmaking platform, we expect you to engage respectfully with any match.
Not interested in a particular match? Please let the match know and consider updating your role and employer profile to make future matches more accurate. Employers with a pattern of not responding to matches may be asked to leave the platform.
How matching works
You tell us what you're looking for in a candidate by completing your employer profile and posting an open role. We use the information you provide to identify only the candidates that meet your criteria.
We believe in quality over quantity of matches. A good match should feel like discovering you've found the candidate of your dreams. To create that experience we only share anonymized profiles of candidates that meet your requirements and who have expressed an interest in working with your specific organization or an organization just like yours. You'll have the opportunity to assess the anonymized profile on the strength of the candidate's skills, experience and education to confirm it's a good fit for the role. When you accept a match, we lift the veil and share the candidate's name and contact information.
How long it takes to find a match depends on how strict your requirements are. Need to have filled this role yesterday and haven't matched yet? Consider adjusting your requirements to cast a wider net.
Partial matches
Partial matches meet most, but not all, of your requirements. While we continue searching for your perfect match, these candidates may be interesting.
When there's not a match that fits all of your requirements, our matching process looks for adjacent matches. It may be helpful to think of this process as identifying candidates that meet many of your preferences and that other employers with similar preferences also found interesting. While this process typically produces intuitive results, (for example, you prefer a candidate with backend engineering experience in the healthcare industry and you partially match with a candidate with backend engineering experience in the pharma industry) feedback gathered from other employers may lead to less expected results.
To further personalize your matches, save candidates you're interested in and reject candidates you're not interested in. Frequent feedback helps us personalize your future matches.
Managing your matches
Your matches can be found on the Home Page and in the Matches Tab of the Workspace Page.
You may save candidates you're interested in by selecting Save on the candidate's Profile Page.
You may reject candidates you're not interested in by selecting Reject on the candidate's Profile Page. Rejected candidates can be removed from your rejected list by selecting Save on the candidate's Profile Page.
After a match is made
Employers have three days from the time they accept a match to contact the candidate. Most of our employers are quite excited to contact their new match right away.
We recommend using the initial conversation with a match to set expectations on your hiring timeline and understand where the candidate is in the job search process.
Unless you request more time, a match will time-out if you fail to contact a candidate during the three day window. Matches that time-out will no longer appear in the Matches Tab on your Role Page and you will no longer have access to the candidate's details.
If you need more time please let us know by selecting Need More Time on Role Page or please email us with the subject "Match".
Providing feedback
After every match we request feedback on the interaction from you and the candidate you matched with. Candidates and employers who consistently receive poor feedback may be asked to leave the platform.
Didn't receive a feedback request after a recent interaction? Please email us with the subject "Feedback".
