What is Scoutcoin?

Scoutcoin (STC) is Scoutship’s ecosystem token. It is the currency of rewards on the Scoutship platform.

Scoutcoin's role

Scoutship serves as a bridge between the internet we know today (commonly referred to as “web2”) and web3, weaving the best aspects of each into a powerful talent discovery platform.

Scoutship’s primary business is matching candidates and employers. Interactions with the platform and the experience of the matchmaking process will feel intuitive to anyone familiar with existing web2 platforms.

A vibrant talent discovery platform requires talent. To ensure Scoutship has access to the world’s best talent and uphold our vision of creating an amazing user experience, we’ve developed a token-based rewards program. The tokenomics behind this rewards program and the incentives it creates will feel familiar to anyone experienced in web3.

We believe that combining a familiar and approachable web2 user experience with the incentives and upside of web3 tokenomics delivers the best of both worlds for candidates and employers.

Earning Scoutcoin

Users can earn Scoutcoin by joining the platform, referring users and writing reviews for other users.

Joining the platform

Upon account creation, users receive an initial Scoutcoin transfer from the Scoutship Treasury into their Scoutship Wallet. This initial deposit provides users with an introduction to our rewards program and incentive structure from their first moments on the platform.

Onboarding talented friends and colleagues to the platform

Users are assigned a unique referral code upon account creation. When an account is created with a referral code, the new account owner is assigned to the referral code holder’s talent vault. Users are rewarded whenever a member of their talent vault is hired on the platform. Rewards are paid in Scoutcoin. If a sponsored search reward was offered on the role, users collect the search reward amount. A transfer from the treasury is made to the user if no award was offered.

Write reviews for users

Users can request reviews from current and former colleagues to complement and validate the information provided by in their candidate profile. Successfully completing a requested review may earn a Scoutcoin reward.

Transferring Scoutcoin

Scoutcoin can be transferred between any users from the Wallet Tab of the Rewards Page by entering the recipient's wallet ID and the amount you wish to transfer.

Scoutship intends to explore opportunities to make Scoutcoin available for off-platform use.
